Friday, August 15th from 4:30-5:30pm: In the Garden Workshop Shapes and patterns abound in the natural world. In this workshop, children will discover shapes and patterns that exist in the plant world by experiencing the art in Ackland's "In and Around the Garden" exhibition. A trip to Kidzu's studio follows, where kids will create their own patterned stepping stone with colorful glass tiles. Hosted by the Ackland Art Museum & Kidzu Children's Museum. Fee: $7 per child/adult pair. For children 4-8 years. Space is limited and prepaid registration is required.
Sunday, August 17th 3:30-4:30pm: Nuts & Bolts Construction Workshop We're making colorful Whirligigs for the yard that will let your imagination fly. These "Big Fish, Little Fish" creations will really go when the wind blows. Every other month during this workshop we'll build fun and simple glue, nail, and decorate projects. Fees: $6.00 per child (ages 5-8). Space is limited and prepaid registration is required.
Wednesday, August 27th at 10:45am: Salsa Tots Program Latin Beat for Tiny Feet! Sing, dance, and play to tropical songs that parents and kids will both enjoy. Susana Ramsey will led this fun fitness event. Please note: Parents with infants or non- walkers can participate as long as the child is in an infant carrier or infant seat. No registration is required. Program is included with your paid admission.

Let's Face It! Clay-time Every Wednesday from 3:30-4:30pm: Grab some clay and sculpt faces on fired jugs during this open art time program. For younger children squishing and pounding the clay will keep them absorbed while older children design and sculpt.
Express Yourself! Every Saturday: Children can experience the joy of making and experiencing all types of art. Express Yourself! classes will be held every Saturday 10:45-11:15am and 11:30am-12:00pm. Classes $2.00 per child (3-8 years old). Space is limited, so sign-up now. Free Bilingual (Spanish/English) Storytime: Join us Saturday, August 9 & 23 at 2:00pm Twice a month Kidzu will host a free bilingual storytime filled with interactive and educational activities and a fun craft project. Presented in Spanish and English for children ages 2 to 8 with an adult. First-time museum visitors that attend this program will receive free admission to the museum for the rest of the day. Dos veces por mes, Kidzu se presentan un hora de cuentas, en español e inglés para los años de niños 2 a 8 con un adulto.
